| Akhand Paths organized by POK refugees | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, November 6 : During partition of India in 1947 thousands of innocent minority community people lost their lives due to religious riots. In Jammu and Kashmir the families who migrated from POK suffered very badly especially families of Muzeffarabad, Poonch, Mirpur & Kashmir who lost thousand of precious lives. Any how many families of Muzeffrabad were saved only due to the noble command of Sant Gurbaksh Singh Danna and were settled in Jammu by his hardships.
Since then the sacrifice remembered by way bhog of Siri Akhand Paths. Refugees of J&K now residing in J&K or any where in India or abroad pay tribute in the loving memory of their near/dear ones and start Akhand Path Sahibs for piece of Departed souls.
This practice is celebrated in different places but the main function takes place in Gurudwara Sant Pura Danna Nanak Nagar Jammu since long under the kind control of Sant Gurbaksh Singh Ji Danna.
In the year chain (Lari) of Siri Akhand Paths started with effect from October 22 which concluded on November 5.
On this occasion Rajiv Chuni leader of refugees while speaking on the occasion threw light on the disparity faced by the refugees till date and criticized the Government for not setting pending issues of Refugees of 1947 between this long spell of 64 years.
