| Controversy over Shri Amarnath Ji Shivlingam | | HC again adjourned case till August 2 | | Jammu, July, 31 :-A petition filed by a pilgrim regarding the controversy of “Shivlingam”, today was listed before Justice Nisar Ahmed Kakru of J&K High Court Srinagar Wing, has adjourned the petition for August 2, 2006.
Earlier Justice JP Singh also adjourned the hearing of the petition filed by one Jagdish Chander Sharma in which petitioner has submitted that when he went to the cave, alleged that he found that the “Lingam” was artificially raised and due to the tempering with the “Lingam”, the sentiments of the people hurts.
The controversy over the artificial “Lingam “in the Shri Amarnath Ji Cave erupted recently and it was reported that the “Lingam” was man-made.
The Governor J&K Lt. Gen. (Retd) S K Sinha who is also Chairman of Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board to find out the truth ordered a probe in the alleged Controversy and appointed Justice KK Gupta (Retd) as One Man Commission. It is worthwhile to mention here Justice KK Gupta has not completed his report and likely to be completely and submitted within week or so. JNF |
