EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Nov7 : Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu Jatinder Singh Jamwal has rejected the bail application of Singrothangi alias Mercy Relta d/o Rangura Relta r/o Tuithiang, Aizwal Mizoram who is alleged involved in much Jack-pot lottery scam.
While rejecting the bail application CJM Jammu Jatinder Singh Jamwal after hearing both the sides observed that the matter pertains to the cheating of the public at large of huge amounts by feigning the belief that they have won huge jack-pot and inducing them to part with substantial amount as transaction charges towards the payment of Jack-pot amount.
According to the complainant in the present case is one such victim of the fraud being perpetrated by the accused persons who have been duped of an amount of as such Rs 28, 28, 246/- on account of purported transaction charges.
The fraud is handiwork of well-trained and well-equipped group of fraudsters including foreign national and applicant accused is only of them.
Court further observed that taking into account the enormity of the fraud which has both Pan-India and the international ramifications and the way in which the offence has been committed in the present case, the fact that the allegations against the accused are of serious nature and involved public interests of crucial significance, can hardly be over emphasized.
It is noticed that nothing substantial has happened in the investigation of the case and apart from the applicant, all other accused persons involved in this case are yet to be arrested. In the given situation the possibility of the applicant hampering the investigation cannot be ruled out. In the opinion of the Court it is a fit case where the investigating authority should be provided under ample opportunity to investigate the case so as to unearth all the hidden truths regarding the commission of offence.
