Construction of covered deep drain | Shiva Nagar residents allege poor quality | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KATHUA, Nov 7: Demanding investigation by State Vigilance Organization, the residents of Upper Shiva Nagar Chinar Lane, Ward No 16, Kathua have alleged that the quality of work for the construction of covered deep drain at the cost Rs 1.40 crore under UDISSMT scheme in the area is of low grade. Speaking to Early Times, the people of the locality including AK Trisal, S K Bhat, Daya Krishan, Mohinder Pal, Kamal Kishore, Raj Kumar, Baljit Singh, N D Sharma, Muqtiar Singh and Angrez said that the contactor executing the project in connivance with the officials of Town drainage department is using low quality material for construction. The residents accused the Town drainage department for not checking the proper quality and ratio of the material which is being used by the contractor. The people said the contractor has not given any connection to the house water outlets. They said that the construction work of this project was started six months back but the XEN, AEE and JE concerned never visited the construction site to assess its pace of work and quality.
