| Timber smuggling foiled, 3 held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 08: Foiling a timber smuggling bid, police today seized a truck and arrested three smugglers at Hara in Gool, Ramban.
Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted a truck (JK14A/2621) at Hara, Gool, and recovered from it 20 timber sleepers which were being smuggled outside Ramban, police sources said.
The truck was then seized along with the sleepers and three persons travelling in it were arrested, the sources added.
The accused were identified as driver Abdul Rashid, son of Ghulam Ahmed, Mohammad Farooq, son of Mohammad Shafi, and Mohammad Sayed, son of Ghulam Mohammad Shah, all residents of Gool.
A case against them was registered at Gool police station.
