Brazen allegations conveyed to AICC Secretary: Embezzlement in multiples of 400 to 500 crores are being committed by ministers including those of Congress under Omar led regime

Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 8: Durbaar opens in the winter capital tomorrow under a grim political scenario when NC led coalition is facing a host of serious issues, rampant corruption being the grave one, for which Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, his own party NC and his council of ministers are under attack from all quarters. Successive events in the past have only bared the allegations coming from opposition and other quarters. With senior leaders from even Congress raising the matter of rampant corruption and all ministers under Omar led regime to PCC Chief Prof Saif-uDin Soz and a visiting senior functionary of AICC, the issue, it appears has assumed grave dimensions.
Even as the NC led coalition under the stewardhsip of Oamr Abdullah is facing these charges of all ministers indulging in corrupt practices with unbridled misuse of office for squandering and swindling funds meant for public welfare, there has been no whimper not to speak of any action for the last over three years against anyone. While the ministers are alleged to be indulging in 'loot' game on a 'no holds barred' scale, there is no curb nor any fear of any 'axe' falling on them from any anti graft organisation or agency. In a scene when ministers are only busy amassing wealth to the tune of crores of rupess, the second rung leadership and entire hierarchy in both the allies are feeling choked and suffocated.
Sources say disgruntlement and disenchantment of the senior party leaders with the prevalent system on account of arrogance of ministers indulging in corrupt practices has reached such an extent that they are left with no option of conveying it directly and openly along with specific instances in certain ministries to the Central leadership in New Delhi.
Sources also said conveying the matter to a visiting Secretary of AICC Ram Chander Khuntia by some leaders of PCC can be seen in that light, though there are many leaders having access in New Delhi , expressing concern to the quarters that matter and to those who register the things pertaining to functioning of the coalition government in J&K.
According to sources, some senior leaders of J&K who have already conveyed the issue of brazen corruption to PCC president about the ministers including Congress ministers indulging in corrupt practices in their respective ministries and departments, reported to the visiting Congress leader of loot, rampant corruption and embezzlements in multiples of 400 to 500 crores being committed by ministers including those of Congress under Omar Abdullah led coalition. However, the AICC leader is said to have assured them that he would take it up particularly the specific charges against some ministers to the high command in New Delhi.
In a scenario where there is no accountability from top to bottom either in administration or the political executive and where even specific charges of corruption substantiated with facts , may not matter but if such complaints emanating from within the party and coalition partner leaders reach New Delhi, Omar will have to explain soon as to why he has given unbridled relaxation to his ministers and why he is not making ministry accountable against whom the corruption allegations have crossed limits. Why the Chief Minister who is talking high and loud about his intolerance towards corrupt practices and corruption is not allowing anti corruption body and organization to work and act in an autonomous manner….?
