| JKPP organises awareness camp for Panches, Sarpanches | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 9:Jammu & Kashmir Panchayat Parishad, district unit Reasi organized an awareness camp for Panches and Sarpanches at Katra.
Sheetla Shanker Vijai Mishra Secretary General Akhil Bhartiya Panchayat Parishad (AIPP) and member expert committee, Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Govt. of India was the chief Guest.
The district President JKPP district Reasi Shakti Paul Singh presided over the function while state president of JKPP Jugal Kishore Gupta delivered the key address on this occasion.
The speakers highlighted various aspects of Panchayati Raj, the role and responsibilities of Panches and Sarpanches, their problems and ways and means to solve the common man living in villages.
AIPP has been carrying forward the movement in Jammu and Kashmir for the establishment of a real Panchayati Raj in the state since long through its state unit JKKP.
On the occasion, the members demanded implementation of 73rd amendment on Panchayati Raj in toto in J&K and transfer of all the 29 departments to PRIs as notified under the act. JKPP should be given an opportunity to provide training to the elected representatives of Panchayats because organization has expertise but needed infrastructure for the purpose.
