| Greater Central Mahajan Sabha organizes impressive function | | | JAMMU JAN-07 Greater Central Mahajan Sabha organized a grand and impressive inaugural function of the party at Justice Mehar Chand Park Gandhi Nagar here today. Justice (Retd) K K Gupta presided over the function while Justice (Retd) S KGupta was the chief guest Former MP and senior Congress leader Janak Raj Gupta, MLC Ved Mahajan, former Mayor JMC Kavinder Gupta and MLC Rattan Lal Gupta were the guests of honour. About 1800-2000 Biradhari members from Kathua, Samba, Hiranagar, Bishnah,R S Pura, Udhampur, Ram Nagar, Akhnoor, Rajouri, besides Jammu city and its adjoining areas, took part in the inaugural function. Presidents and other office bearers of different sub-caste Mahajan, community wearing colourful Pink turbans, a symbol of the community, also participated in the function. On this occasion, the chief guest and other guests of honour were decorated with Pink turbans, colourful batches and patkas of the Sabha. In his presidential address, Kundal Lal Gupta welcoming the participants enumerated the measures being taken by the Sabha for the welfare of the community especially the educated unemployed youth. He said the Sabha is opening counseling centers at the state level for the students who want to appear in IAS, KAS and other competitive examinations. Jugal Mahajan Chief Patron of the Sabha laid stress to carry forward the programs and policies of late Lala Hans Raj Dogra while Janak Raj Gupta felt the need for up-liftment of the community by imparting higher education to the community students and Ved Mahajan and Kavinder Gupta stressed for political up- liftment. Justice (Retd) S K Gupta while welcoming the formation of the Greater Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha hoped that the newly formed Sabha would come up to the expectations of the masses and guide them to achieve the desired goals. Justice (Retd) K K Gupta, who presided over the function, impressed the need for maintaining brotherhood to carry forward the ideas of Lal Hans Raj in letter and spirit.
