New India Assurance launches multi beneficial Bima policy | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 9:To address the social economic needs of the poor masses of Jammu and Kashmir, India's largest General Insurance giant, the New India Assurance Company has launched a low cost multi beneficial comprehensive insurance scheme through its 12 operating offices located all over the state. Explaining the salient features of this package scheme drafted with much reduced hassles, Dr Daleep Pandita, Head of the Company's office at Jammu stated that it is basically a Micro insurance product saleable through Self Help Groups, NGOs and panchayats of the concerned area that covers both movable and immovable property of beneficiary besides covering its livestock. The scheme named as Jan Suraksh Lagu Sima Policy grants medical insurance cover to the insured and its family members on floater basis including personal accident losses due to all types of accidents including road accidents, to ensure quality medical care, particularly during emergency. Dr Pandita said this insurance scheme cover even losses due to terrorist activities and due to burglary and housebreaking making this policy practically more useful and relevant to the security environment prevalent in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The nominal premium payable annually under this policy, varies with the option of different values of sum insured, does not attract any service tax on it so as to make it financially acceptable arid viable. Persons from the age of 5 to 70 years can avail these benefits without any medical examination or any pre conditions set for taking this insurance.
