Kranti Dal exposes traffic chaos in city | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 9: Kranti Dal today visited different routes of Jammu city to take cognizance of the traffic jams in the city. The team was led by Pritam Sharma, gen. Secy, Kranti Dal and accompanied by Rajinder Bhagat (city president), Jagdish Sudan (city gen. secy.) Kranti Dal team visited routes and chowks such as Janipur route, Kachi Chowni Chowk, Shalamar Chowk, K.C.Chowk, Bus-Stand Area, Jewel Chowk, and K.C. Chowk to Amphalla Chowk, Dogra Chowk, Vikram Chowk, Gole Market, Satwari Chowk, and Jewel Chowk to Canal Road. Pritam Sharma said that the traffic jam is a serious problem for a common man who remains stranded for hours in traffic jam. On the other hand, room immediately is made for VIP. Traffic jam is common phenomenon three times during the move of civil secretariat. It burdens on narrow roads. Jagdish Sudan said that state govt. is playing step-mother behaviour with Jammuas iut makes empty promises with the Jammu people as since 1995, there is no development taken place but hollow promises made by the ministers. During last 16 years, no fly over constructed, roads were not expanded, no under way was constructed. State govt is alleged to be only making plan in the cabinet but totally has failed to implement these plans. Traffic signals are also in the pending bag. There is also shortage of traffic police in the city area. Traffic police is not active to operate traffic, they are only looking for chalans but not caring for their duties for what they are deployed. Rajinder Bhagat & Jadish Sudan suggested that circular road should be constructed from Ashoka hotel to High court, shift civil secretariat from city to Sidhra, construct fly over from Shakuntla theatre to Amphalla, Jewel to Canal Road, Vikram Chowk to Satwari, under way from Satwari to Vikram Chowk, constructing parking to avoid road side parking. |
