Chib reviews functioning of GMC, associated hospitals | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, NOVEMBER 9- Minister for Medical Education Mr. R S Chib today reviewed the functioning of Government Medical College, Jammu and its associated hospitals. Addressing the meeting, the Minister directed the Principal GMC to ensure that all the diagnostic equipments like MRI, USG, X-ray, CT Scan etc also functional for the convenience of the patients, adding that any technical or instrumental problem in these vital machines can cause big problem to the ailing who throng here for medicare from far-off and hilly pockets. Mr. Chib said that review meeting of Super Specialty hospitals, being constricted in Jammu and Srinagar, would also be convened on November 17 to get the first hand appraisal of the present status of different works on these hospitals. The Minister expressed concern over Hindustan Latex Limited (HLL) and CPWD for late supply of equipments and delay in completion of civil works of both the Super Specialty hospitals and asked for improving their services. He also said that the plan formulated for replacement of security personnel from GMCs and its associated hospitals in the state would be implemented soon. He hoped that improvement in security set-up would prove helpful for both patients and their attendants. Among others, Commissioner Secretary Finance Mr. Sudanshu Panday, Commissioner Secretary Health and Miedicalo education Mr G A Peer, Principal, GMC, Jammu Dr. Rajinder Singh, Additional Secretary, Health and Medical Education Mr Jatinder Sharma, Medical Superintendent, GMC, Jammu Dr. Manohj Chalotra, Deputy Superintendent, SMGS Dr. Dara Singh, HOD, Radiology Dr. Ghani Shyam, besides Administrator of Associated hospitals was present in the meeting.
