| Dy CM reviews progress of centrally sponsored schemes in H&UDD | | Stresses on time bound completion of projects | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, NOVEMBER 09- Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Tara Chand on the maiden day of Darbar at Jammu, chaired a high level review meeting of Housing and Urban Development Department(H&UDD) and reviewed progress of various centrally sponsored schemes undertaken by the department.
Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Home, Tourism and Revenue and Relief Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani was present during the meeting.
Among other the meeting was attended by Additional Secretary, H&UDD Saugat Biswas, Commissioner, JMC Mr. S.C. Sawhney, Vice-Chairman, JDA Mr. Vinod Sharma, Director, Local Bodies, Jammu Mr. F.C. Bhagat, Managing Director J&K Housing Board Mr. Dalip Thusoo and other senior engineers and officers of line departments were present during the meeting.
Mr Tara Chand took a detailed review of the performance and achievements of different projects undertaken under JNNURM viz. UIDSSMT, IHSDP, BSUP and other urban development projects.
Stressing on time bound completion of prestigious projects, Mr. Tara Chand said with liberal funding from the Central government various flagship schemes have been launched and maximum benefit can only be drawn if works are completed within the stipulated time frame. He cautioned the executing authorities that no delay would be tolerated and called for maintaining a proper calendar for all the undertaken works.
Addressing the meeting, Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani called for speeding up pace of the undertaken projects so that the same can be commissioned at the earliest. He said mega-development projects have been taken up in the sector and the same would create durable assets for urbanites of the State.
