Jammu: Amid tight security Durbar opened here today with customary Guard of Honour inside the Secretariat premises. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah took the salute in presence of his council of ministers and senior officers of administration after which he took a round of the departments to review the functioning on the first day. The Secretariat wore a dull and deserted look as a sizable number of employees remained absent on the first day.
However, in contrast to the hustle and bustle normally witnessed on the reopening day the Secretariat presented a dull and deserted look as over 60 % employees remained absent. The employees mostly from Kashmir Valley are availing two day special leave given on account of Eid festival. |
