Corruption charges framed against Patwari | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 11: Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu today framed corruption charges against Sikander Kumar then Patwari Deeli who was allegedly caught red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 8000/- from the complainant. Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Pawan Dev Kotwal after hearing CPO Parshtom Sharma appearing for the Vigilance Organization framed charges y/s 5(1) (d) r/w section 5(2) J&K PC Act 2006 and 161 RPC and directed prosecution to produce witnesses on the next date of hearing. According to the case a written complaint lodged with P/S Vigilance Organization Jammu stated that the complainant has a piece of land situated at Shanti Nagar in Patwar Halqa Deeli in his name and he wanted to sell the land for which he approached the Sikander Kumar, Patwar Halqa Deeli for issuance of fard. The accused Patwari Sikander Kumar demanded Rs 8000/- as illegal gratification from the complainant, for issuance of fard of the said land. On the basis of said complaint, Case FIR No. 5/2011 u/s Section 5(2) P.C.Act r/w Section 161 RPC P/S Vigilance Organization Jammu was registered. Patwari Deeli was caught red-handed by the VOJ on on March 3, 2011 alongwith tainted money.
