Natrang restarting its Saturday series | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 11: Natrang in support of Aircel had started a mega cultural event ‘Saturday Series’ last year. The objective of this ambitious venture was to provide audience an opportunity to watch a production of large canvas regularly, thus supplementing its mission to bring cultural renaissance in the State. Because of the non availability of the auditorium, the series was put on halt for a few months. Giving details about this mega theatrical venture in a press briefing, Natrang director Balwant Thakur informed that with a big bang, Natrang and Aircel are staging a highly innovative play ‘Mind Games’ (Hindi) written and directed by Sumeet Sharma, a recipient of Sangeet Natak Akademi’s Ustad Bismillah Khan Award for Theatre Direction on Saturday, 12th of November, 2011 at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu at 5 pm. He requested that a larger number of people may come to watch this play as it relates to everyone and has already been staged in various National Theatre Festivals held at New Delhi, Chandigarh, Srinagar (Uttranchal), Shimla, Jallandhar and Kurukshetra. where it had mustered a huge appreciation. The earlier plays featured in this series were ‘Ghumayee’ (Dogri) written and directed by Balwant Thakur, ‘Bawa Jitto’ (Dogri) written by Late Prof. Ram Nath Shastri and directed by Balwant Thakur. ‘Kauva Chala Hans Ki Chaal’ written by Moliere and Directed by Sumeet Sharma. All the plays were staged in Jam Packed hall and now on 12th of November, 2011, at 5 pm, ‘Mind Games’ would carry the legacy of providing wholesome theatrical experience to the people of Jammu.
