Kranti Dal demands Helpline for Women | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 11: Kranti Dal today expressing deep concern over the increased number of female molestation and rape cases in Jammu and rest of the country has demanded stern action against the culprits. In one of a fresh case from Rajasthan where one of the ministers doing wrong activity with women and torching her to death has come into light. In the meeting under the chairmanship of Pritam Sharma,Gen. Secy. and attended by Rajinder Bhagat, city president and Jagdish Sudan, city gen secy of the Dal, the members demanded stern action against Rajasthan minister (Madarna) who misused his ministry power for wrong activity. The members called for establishing an exclusive helpline for the females, and opined that especially in Jammu, the cases of women exploitation is on rise and the police is not doing enough. It was also resolved in the meeting that the state police should develop such a mechanism where a victim can come and lodge her complaint without any fear of the goons. They said in most of the cases the complaint turn hostile because either the police does not cooperate with them or they are threatened by the criminals. They said the identity of the complainant should be kept secret. The members also showed their concern on the decreasing sex- ratio. They said government should focus on the girl education otherwise all the schemes will be of no use.
