| Maj Gen Surinder Singh takes over command of Tiger Division | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Nov 11: Maj Gen Surinder Singh, SM,VSM took over as new General Officer Commanding of the Tiger Division in a solemn ceremony held at Headquarters of the Division at Satwari Cantt today.
Gen Surinder, who earned the distinction of being the 44rd GOC of the Tiger Division, has a varied operational experience of serving in both J&K and North East.
Amongst his earlier stints are important assignments of Commanding an Infantry unit during peak militancy in J&K and Commander of an Infantry Brigade in snow bound High Altitude Area.
General Surinder has widely travelled around the world and also held the coveted appointment of Mission Senior Military Observer in United Nations Mission in Congo. Recently he was Defence Attache in Indian High Commission in Kabul.
