MLCs- unnecessary burden on state exchequer: JKMPJ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 11:J&K Movement For Peace & Justice (JKMPJ) has termed the institution of MLCs as burden on democratic system which also fails to project public issues in the legislature. Movement said that the MLCs are either found active in promoting the ruling parties agenda or the motives of the different faction/groups only. The members also criticized the leaders of the political parties for defeating the actual purpose of the legislative council i.e to nominate the prominent/visionary/literate and non political persons in legislative council in order to justify the aspirations of the masses in an effective way but on the contrary nominations are proved as awards either to the defeated candidates of the political parties or the rich face of the society, ignoring their actual worth. The public was watching the daily highlights of the last Assembly Session but nobody for any front including MLC's dare to ask the Govt. about the much publicized issues during the past session, like land grabbing scam - involvement of politicians, high ranking officials and land mafia; hushed-up Paper leakage scams; Fake gun license issue scam; Embezzlement of crores of Govt. funds in School Education Department in Kishtwar District; Bifurcation of Board of School Education in to two Boards at Divisional level; high level & low level corruption in many departments at the cost of huge public money. JKMPJ further said that they are not against any political party but are against the system of the political parties. It is a long time observation that the political parties mostly field those candidates for assemblies and the parliament who pay hefty amounts to the party as party fund.
