36th TenniKoit Championship starts in Jammu | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 12: 36th Senior National TenniKoit Championship 2011 started at Green Field Gandinagar here on Saturday. Tenni Kiot Association welcomed players of 27 states who are participating in th event. Col Sheetal Singh (Rtd.) chief patron JKTKA said that this event will explore the possibilities of exchanging sports talent ethnic exchange and diverse cultural ethos of union of India. He added that this event will not only expose the hidden talent but will boost the morale of youth in the state. “We the organizers Col. Sheetal Singh (Rtd.) Chief Patron, Ashfaq Pandit President, Chairman Er. Kiran Watttal Secretary J&K State Sports Council, Ishaq Gen. Secretary, Iqbal Lone (CEO KFORD) and G A Beigh Treasurer of J&K Tenni Kiot Association look forward for cooperation support and encouragement from state Government, corporate houses, civil society groups , media and sports lovers. It would be noteworthy to mention here that J&KTKA with the kind support of government and non government organizations have achieved the distinction among other states of India when it comes to participation in state and national tenni kiot activity,” the Association officials said in opening remarks. The game tenni kiot has time and again provided opportunities to young talents from the state to explore and expose them in different socio- economic cultural settings. Tennikiot has always provided and encouraging platform for underprivileged children of the state who never had dreamed of to get exposed to the outer world which includes participation in state, national and international. Tenni Kiot has always been the game of have-nots/ underprivileged navigating through the evolution of sports spirit; it has become more popular in the elitist societies in Europe and Middle East. Tennikoit is an international sports being played in 14 to 15 countries across the globe. Two world Tennikoit Championships have been completed and one triangular championships was held in South Africa.
