Awareness camp, Lok Adalat held to mark National Legal literacy Day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Udhampur, Nov 10: With the resolve to ensure social justice to marginalized communities and empower the poor and disadvantaged sections of society through legal literacy,Tehsil Legal Service Committee (TLSA), Ramnagar celebrated the National Legal Literacy day by organizing a legal awareness camp and Lok Adalat in the Court premises. Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee (Sub Judge ), Ramnagar ,Sandeep Kour was the chief guest on the occasion. While speaking on the occasion, Chairman( TLSA) made the participants aware about various acts and schemes launched by the Government for the farewell of public. He urged the people to avail benefits of the schemes. He threw light on all aspects of legal service, Human Rights and Lok Adalats and appealed the public to come forward and take the benefits of Lok Adalats, NREGA and Legal Services. She focused on the benefits of free legal aid services to the deserving litigants particularly mentally disabled persons. He apprised the gathering about the extension of free legal aid services to the persons belonging to transgender community and also mentally retarded persons. Bar President Mohan Lal and Secy Sudesh Kumar Gupta also informed the participants about the benefits of Legal Service Authority Act and the Lok Adalat and also the responsibilities of the agencies involved in the implementation of the Act. In the Lok Adalat held thereafter, 33 cases of criminal and civil nature were taken out of which 13 cases were settled on spot . Beside others SDM Basantgarh , Tehsildar Ramnagar, members of the Bar Association, members of Tehsil Legal Service Committee, and litigants were present on the occasion
