| Widespread resentment among JU Scholars against PSC | | | JAMMU | JAN 7 State Public Service Commission’s (PSC) notification for the recruitment of Plus two lectures has created a wide spread resentment among the scholars of Jammu University as most of them are the aspirants for the adversity Research Scholar’s Executive Association (JURSEA) has termed the PSC as near defunct and demanded its streamlining whereas, another group of scholars headed by Vikas Sharma has threatened to launched an agitation if flows highlighted by them would not be rectified. In a press conference held by JURSEA, Anuradha Goswani, Vice President termed the PSC as near defunct body and demanded its immediate streamlining. She also demanded the advertisement of such vacancies on regular basis as per the orders of HRD Ministry. Amit Sharma, Gen. Secretary while speaking on the occasion demanded completion of recruitment process with in a prescribed time frame. He said that recruitment for the college lecturers should be completed before the recruitment process of the plus two lecturers as same candidates appear for both the vacancies and it would avoid unnecessary chaos. Concerns were also expressed over the absence of SC Quota in the vacancies of lecturers Zoology as eight percent quota is allotted for the SC candidates. JURSEA also demanded the absorption of left over quota of in service candidates in the open category vacancies. Meanwhile, in a separate meeting of Scholars headed by Vikas Sharma concerns were expressed over the neglect of several subjects from the advertised vacancies. Speaking on the occasion, Vikas said that PSC is deliberately neglecting several subjects, which includes statistics, environmental sciences, Home Science, Dogri, Sanskrit, Buddhist studies and Geography as either no vacancy or negligible number of vacancies have been advertised in these disciplines. He also threatened to launch an agitation if PSC will not advertise vacancies in these disciplines also. Sunil Sharma, Kuldeep Raj, Suresh, Sandeep Charak and Rajesh Sharma also attended the meeting.
