| Vehicle lifters become active as car stolen from New Plots | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
hicle lifters seem to have become active again in the winter capital city here as a Maruti car was this afternoon stolen from New Plots.
The car (JK02C/6515) was parked outside the house of its owner Sham Saroop Gupta when it was stolen by someone in the afternoon, police sources said.
Sham’s house is situated in a lane close to the PHE water tank at New Plots. Police had registered a case in this regard.
A month, or so back, the Santro car of Ashu Gupta was stolen from another lane at New Plots. From the same lane, Maruti car of Ajit Gupta was stolen last year.
Three cars have been stolen from the area in the past one year but police are yet to trace any of them.
Not only this, groups of youth could be seen consuming liquor in the evening in the lane adjoining a wine shop at New Plots (Sarwal Morh).
