| Bus Stand traders hails shifting of ‘idle buses’ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Nov 12: Shopkeepers Association General Bus Stand Jammu has
hailed the decision taken by the authorities to shift idle buses from
the General Bus Stand and shift them for parking at the recently
constructed yard at Khanpur, near Nagrota.
A deputation of two associations of Bus Stand Shopkeepers, today
called on the IGP Traffic and conveyed thanks to him for this long
over due step taken by the concerned authorities, to remove chaos in
the bus stand premises and frequent long traffic jams, causing great
inconvenience to the passengers as well as the bus drivers. The
deputation of the association, which was lead by Y.V Sharma, President
CCI Jammu requested the IGP to enforce this decision strictly and
heavily fine the violators.
Deputationists also requested the IGP traffic to issue strict orders
that buses of all routes should pickup and drop passengers only from
inside the General Bus Stand premises. “This will not only smoother
the traffic flow but also give respite to the people from being stuck
into long traffic jams, they added.
The deputation comprised Rajesh Abrol Chairman, Madhu Sharma
President, Surinder Gupta Sr. Vice President, Rajesh Gandotra Vice
President, Narinder Kumar Gen Secy, Manmohan Luthra Secy, Vijay Sodi
Joint Secy and Rajesh Gupta. The Chairman and General Secy of the
outer shopkeepers association, Ramesh Tak and Rajan Gupta and
President Poonch Route Buses Union Mahinder Paul Singh also
accompanied the deputations.
