Recruitment policy issue | Several student organisations continue protests | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KATHUA, Nov 12:Several student organizations including Progressive Students Association (PSA), ABVP and Student Movement continue to hold protest in Kathua town against the recruitment rule of JK Govt and illegal and undemocratic arrest of a University student leader. The PSA took out a massive procession from Rajiv Gandhi College of Education to DC office Kathua under the leadership of Kulbir against the illegal and undemocratic arrest of PSA president of University of Jammu Manik by the police with a motive to crush the on going protest of students against the ‘draconian’ recruitment rule. They demanded immediate release of Manik because to raise the voice for justice is the democratic right of the students. On the occasion the state president of PSA Dheeraj Sharma alleged that the coalition government is using repressive methods to dampen the intensity of the protest and making the illegal and undemocratic arrest of the student leaders who are demanding the revocation of this anti-youth, anti-people and draconian recruitment rule. The ABVP also seemed worried about the exploitative and undemocratic use of power and condemned it widely by holding a massive protest under the leadership of Rahul Sharma against the Omar led regime in the state and demanded the immediate release of the University student leader Manik and revocation of the recruitment rule. Meanwhile, the massive procession was taken out by the student movement also under the leadership of Amrish Singh, Sidhant Sharma and Abhishek Sharma who demanded the scraping of the new recruitment rule which is nothing more than extreme exploitation of the youth of the state.
