| Cop allegedly shoots self | | | kathua: A police constable allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle at Kathua district here today. Police has registered a case in this regard. Identified as Constable Amarjeet son of Rattan Chand a resident of Nailpur, Kathua presently posted at Police Post Saar Khad area today shot self with his service rifle, police said. Police further said that soon after the incident, the injured was rushed to the District Hospital, Kathua where he was declared as brought dead. The reason behind the extreme step has not ascertained.
However the family of the deceased alleging a foul play has demanded an investigation in the alleged suicide. The body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives after postmortem. Meanwhile Police has registered a case and investigation on the part of it is in progress. |
