Rahul- Maya bickering on 'poor governance' in UP | Why has he chosen silence on similar issues in J&K…? | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 12: The war of words erupted between AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi and UP Chief Minister Mayawati has intensified with the latter now paying him in the same coin and tenor. Mayawati today asked Rahul to direct his anger at Center rather than finding fault with only her government . The UP Chief Minister has raised a valid point in asking Rahul why he doesn't raise his outcry and concern in other states or centre where the scenario is more grim on issues like corruption, youth problems and political unrest. Rahul Gandhi's extra ordinary indulgence and interference in UP affairs and governance is prompting his opponents and even commoners to ask only one question- why has he blindfolded for every such wrong thing happening in a sensitive state like J&K…..? Rahul Gandhi's excessive indulgence in UP and his critical remarks loaded with allegations may be based on facts . His tone and frequency of visits to UP has lately increased apparently in the wake of elections in UP which are round the corner. But as of now he is only making these remarks and allegations in capacity of senior leader of AICC , a party which is leading UPA government at Centre. One only wonders why Rahul Gandhi has chosen studied slience on issues of grave nature in other states and more importantly in a sensitive state like J&K where his party has political stakes and ought to be more accountable than any other party in so far as the issue of clean governance is concerned. The question is being raised on genuine lines. Rahul Gandhi and his party feels or sees that Mayawati has misused the funds that were given to her state by the Centre in utilising them on the 'slef glorification projects rather than on the schemes and works which would have benefitted larger sections of people. It is for Mayawati to prove that wrong. So far as J&K state is concerned it remains no secret that Centre has been doling out funds through inneumourous central schems besides constantly giving thousands of crores of rupees though its special packages to J&K. Has Rahul Gandhi ever bothered to see whether the funds have been spent on sectors with any fair amount of transparency ….? Has he ever asked the rulers here, particulary the ruling NC and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah if his government\ administration has showed accountability in expenditures…? J&K is passing through a situation of political turmoil with the two allies of ruling coalition engaged in bickering over a host of issues which has lately intensified to the xtent that Congress high command had to eat a humble pie in watching and tolerating for some times its own partner NC not only criticizing but virtually abusing and 'exposing' it for past follies and blaming the party for all wrongs that have happened in J&K. Rahul Gandhi did not utter a single word nor made any remark even when the coalition government came under severest attack over death of a political worker allegedly in custody and the political cooruption that became more than visible as the events unfolded. And noe, when the NC- Congress is facing another crisis and criticism over its new recruitment policy, an issue which has resulted in unrest among the youth, Rahul Gandhi, who is otherwise seen as a youth leader , having concern for positive growth of youth of J&K in positive direction, is yet to utter anything here in J&K. The iconic leader, who is not only being projected as future Prime Minister but may also be entrusted with the responsibility of president of party is non commentative about brazen issues of gagging of media in J&k and selective victimization of the newspapers and media groups by the present regime. Can one draw the inference that Rahul Gandhi has different yardsticks in gauging the situation and assessing gravity of similar issues in two or more states…? |
