Natrang presents ‘Mind Games’ at Gen Zorawar Singh Auditorium | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 12: Natrang and Aircel presented ‘Mind Games’, a play in Hindi conceived, written and directed by Sumeet Sharma, a recipient of Ustad Bismillah Khan Award for Theatre Direction. Dilbagh Singh IG, Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion. In his welcome address Natrang Director Balwant Thakur informed the audience about Natrang’s series of Saturday Theatre which they started with the collaboration and support of AIRCEL is aimed at taking theatre to larger audiences, that’s why General Zorawar Singh Auditorium has been chosen as it’s venue. He expressed his heartiest gratitude to the AIRCEL and its circle head Harvinder Pal Singh for supporting the theatre in a big way which urgently needs patronage and support of the corporate and the public. For the contribution of AICEL in promoting theatre, the circle head was honored by the Chief Guest. Later the Chief Guest was also honored by Natrang Director Balwant Thakur with the presentation of a memento. Dilbagh Singh lauded the efforts of Natrang in promoting the art and cultural of the State. The play unveils a very common, unconscious and continuous practice of all human beings, Chatting with Mind and creating baseless abstract stories all the times, which give rise to thoughts which when nurtured become attitude and eventually shape our behavior and personality causing success or failure. The play revolves around a character Ajeet, who represents the mind model of a contemporary man whose rejections, anxiety, likes, dislikes, passions, reasons, fears, emotions, fantasies, dreams, etc. have a lot to share with all of us. The absurd thoughts which he develops create humor but unknowingly we are laughing at our own habits and shortsightedness while laughing at him. The theme of the play ‘Mind Games’ is universal yet unique. It does not reflect the story of one particular character or situation but showcases the instinctive behavior of all human beings. Sumeet Sharma played the central character of the play ‘Ajeet’ with professional ease, he lived his character so vividly that audience could feel its credibility and sensibility throughout the play. Gaurav Jamwal as ‘Krish’ was also very impressive with his balanced acting. Chitra Thapar as ‘Simran’ added to the overall performance with her notable performance. Pawan Verma as ‘Boss’, Vipin Gupta as ‘Kumar’ and Mohd. Yaseen as peon also got much appreciation. Others who participated in the play include Kritika Sharma, Itika Sood, Shivika Verma, Ankush Lakhnotra, Sunil Bhardwaj, Vishal Sharma, Abhinav Vimarsh and Susheel Raina. Lights were executed by Suraj Ganjoo and the music was rendered by Rahul Singh. Ranbir Singh did the documentation. Anil Tickoo did the presentations and the hall management was looked after by Mohit Sharma and Vikram Sharma. Neeraj Sharma coordinated the presentation. The gifts to the artists were sponsored by Aastha Skin & Dermato Cosmetic Centre. 92.7 Big FM was the radio partner and Jammu Links was the web media partner of the event. The play has already been staged in various National Theatre Festivals held at New Delhi, Chandigarh, Srinagar (Uttranchal), Shimla, Jallandhar and Kurukshetra where it had mustered huge appreciation
