| 78000 Kanals including Govt land worth 150 Cr under illegal occupation: RTI | | Land Scam exposed in Udhampur | |

JAMMU NOV 13: In written reply to an RTI plea of Raman Sharma, the District Administration Udhampur confirmed that in 4 Tehsil of the district government land belonging to revenue department worth Rs 150 Cr is under illegal occupation of individuals and land grabbers.
According to a 650 pages reply signed by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur substantiates that estimated value of the occupied land is Rs 156,32,68,000 (at the aggregate rate of Rs.20,000/kanal).
“The revenue department has also claimed that during the last 3 years it had vacated 30838 kanals land from the encorachers, stated the RTI reply further adding that more than 6000 individuals have illegaly grabbed land without holding any authority but surprisingly the ADC in the reply has also confirmed that not even in a single case any FIR is registered against any person
The applicant Raman Sharma in his 8 points application dated 28/March/2011 under Jammu and Kashmir Right to Information Act 2009 had asked information for details of total area of land belonging to revenue department is under possession of land encroachers/mafia. The reply stated that the total area of land vacated from the land encroachers during the last 3 years and action taken by the district administration in this regard.
The RTI activist also mentioned that Public Information officer/ADC took no action on the RTI application for more than 7 months and then Raman had made a complaint with the Jammu and Kashmir State Information Commission on June 13 this year. The reply detailed that land measure measuring 78162 kanal and 14 marlas out of total 645982 Kanal and 6 marlas is under illegal occupation of individuals and land grabbers.
