MLA Ramban inaugurates reservoir, want floriculture promotion

Ramban, Nov 13: MLA,Ramban,Ashok Kumar inaugurated a water reservoir at village Bodhi and promised an early electrification and potable water supply to leftout hamlets during his trekking tour of remote hilly areas of his constituency.
Accompanying the officials of PHE,RDD,PDD,Education and Forest departments Ashok Kumar concluded a tour of Bodhi, Juwagh,Challali, Arroga, Sildhar villages and their surrounding hamlets today.
During his tour he held public darbars in these villages and listened to the problems of the villages there.
The major problems highlighted by the villagers concerned with the water supply and power supply to all left out villages, timely concession to the A-Class concessionists needing timber through forest department and linking these villages with the under construction Karol-Kumet road.
While inaugurating a 10,000 gallon water reservoir at Bodhi he addressed a large public gathering and informed that the left out hamlets would be covered under the ongoing Rand Gali- Dhandrat water supply scheme soon. He reviewed the Bodhi water supply scheme and expressed his satisfaction. He said that the unelectrified hamlets like Arogga ,Challali,Dhandla etc will be electrified by next year.
He was felicitated by the villagers for upgrading the Middle School,Juwagh and getting Rs.65 lac cost school building sanctioned.
On the local concern of increasing deforestation and denudation raised by the local NGOs Ashok promised those to get an aforestation scheme launched there soon.
On his intervention the forest officials present there assured that the petty forest works of the villagers will be done on spot. He asked the villagers to be the saviors of their forests themselves and preserve them for their progeny.
On his direction the concerned officers accompanying him promised to start the works under MNREGA within couple of days.
Realising the floriculture potential in the area and underlining its importance he asked the floriculture experts to visit the area to educate and help the villagers to adopt it as a means of livelihood.
