Ian Dev slams consecutive second ton in a drawn match | Ranji Trophy Plate Group-B League Match | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar Nov 13: Right-handed opening batsman Ian Dev Singh Chauhan is showing glimpses of his maturity as batsman as he scored a consecutive century for Jammu and Kashmir on the last and the final day of the rain-hit Ranji Trophy match against Jharkhand at Sher-e-K ashmir Cricket Stadium , here today. J&K declared its first innings after posting 258/4 in 75 overs tea, while, in reply, Jharkhand was at 105/2 before the match was called off today. Skipper Parvez Rasool was unbeaten on 19 runs when he declared the J&K innings with the fall of Ian’s wicket to give last session to the Jharkhand batsmen. Jharkhand, in reply, scored 105 runs in the 20 overs they played today, losing 2 wickets in the process. Opener MS Vardhan was unbeaten on 58 runs and number 4 batsman RK Nemat on 17 when the stumps were drawn. The two wickets to fell were international cricketers Saurabh Tiwary and Ishant Jaggi, both scalped by medium fast bowler Samiullah Beigh at their individual scores of 23 and zero runs respectively. Earlier, J&K rode on a superb batting display by their openers Ian Dev Singh and Adil Reshi to post a good total before declaring their innings at 258 runs. Ian smashed 121 runs studded with 14 boundaries and two massive sixes, while Adil contributed well made 88 runs. One down batsman Fayaz Ahmad was also trapped LBW by Nadeem. He scored only 23 runs and fell in 79th over when the total score was 243 runs. Both Ian Dev Singh and Fayaz Ahmad shared 72 runs partnership for second wicket. For Jharkhand, Nadeem claimed 2 wickets while Qurashi picked one. It may be recalled that there was no play on the second and the third day due to the wet and soggy outfield.
