PDP has vision to address aspirations of all regions: Mufti | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 14 (KNS): Former Chief Minister and patron of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today said that agenda of his party to restore peace and tranquility in the state through its visionary policies that has already changed political discourse of the state. He said the party would continue to aggressively pursue its pro-peace and pro-development agenda. Mufti was addressing a function to welcome social activist Avtar Singh Khalsa in the party. Khalsa a prominent leader today joined PDP along with large number of his supporters in the presence of Mufti and other senior leaders of PDP. Mufti reminded that PDP was formed in the year 1999 with an aim to restore peace and to uphold dignity and honour of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “Aim of PDP is not to grab people but to address grievances of the people”, he said and called upon the new entrants to spread the message of party in every nook and corner of the state. Highlighting achievements of the PDP, Mufti said that biggest achievement of his party was that it had connected itself with the common masses and earned credibility and faith of the people through its convictions and commitments. Reiterating resolve of his party to fulfill wishes of all sections of the society, PDP Patron Mufti said the PDP has a vision to address aspirations of all regions and sub-regions of the state. He also reminded that PDP-Congress during its tenure had fulfilled the promises which the party had made with the people of Jammu and Kashmir in 2002 assembly elections. Speaking on the occasion, Avtar Singh Khalsa, said that he is impressed by the policies and programmes of the PDP. He said that Mufti as Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir has set an example of good governance. He said that period during the chief ministership of Mufti has been rightly considered as golden period of the political history of this State.
