| MLA Poonch today distributed Drought Relief cheques | | |

Poonch Nov 13: Ajaz Jan MLA Poonch today distributed drought relief cheques worth 6.30 lacs among the beneficiaries hailing from Niabat Loran in a function organized here today. He also directed local administration to assess loss to the farmers who are affected due to recent torrential rains.
Speaking on the occasion MLA Poonch Ajaz Jan said Central and State Governments are fully aware of the grievances and demands of the people and are making all out efforts to mitigate their issues at the earliest. “All the concerned agencies should keep themselves fully prepared to meet any natural or manmade disaster, he said, further adding, “farmers are facing challenges in recent years due to drought and other natural calamities.”
Replying to the question related to demands of the people regarding damages caused due to recent rains, Jan directed the accompanied Revenue officers to prepare the lists of losses of public and private property in the area so that the relief could be disbursed among them under norms fixed by the Government.
MLA Poonch, was accompanied with Tehsildar Mandi Malik, other senior officers of Revenue and other concerned departments were present on the occasion.
During interaction to the visiting MLA, the locals raised the issues like rectification in BPL list, un-interrupted power supply, safe drinking water, blacktopping of roads etc.
Jan assured them that all their genuine demands would be redressed at the earliest.
