| Brick kiln owner booked for overcharging, 6 others warned | | | Early times report
Jammu, Nov 13:
Legal Metrology department booked one brick kiln and served warning to six others for overcharging of the bricks by the brick kiln owners during inspection held at RS Pura here today. The brick kilns were inspected on the direction of Pawan Kotwal, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu.
Divisional Commissioner had been receiving complaints that brick kiln owners at RS Pura were duping people by imposing extra rates to the consumers. The brick kilns charged Rs 4400 for 1000 bricks against Rs 2990 for 1000 bricks as rate fixed by government.
During inspection, Metrology department booked one brick kiln namely Zamindara Brick Kiln for various offences under provisions Measurement Enforcement Act. The sleuths of the department got refund Rs 1400 to the consumer from Zamindara Brick Kiln. The MeT sleuths also checked the availability of the bricks and served warning to the owners of six other bricks kiln to strictly comply with provisions of Relevant Laws аnԁ Rules.
