| Div Com takes stock of procurement mandies | | |

Jammu, Nov 13: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Pawan Kotwal today paid a visit to various procurement mandies established by Food Corporation of India (FCI) in collaboration with Agriculture Department in Jammu and Samba districts.
Accompanied with District Development Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma, DDC Samba Mubarak Singh, Director Agriculture Jammu Ajay Khajuria, senior officers of FCI and Agriculture department, Divisional Commissioner Jammu visited the Procurement Mandies at Chano Chak block Marh and Sarore of district Samba.
Besides taking stock of the situation, the Divisional Commissioner Jammu Pawan Kotwal also interacted with the farmers who had come to sell their produce and listened to their demands, grievances and suggestions as well.
Kotwal expressed satisfaction over the facilities being provided by the Agriculture Department and assured that uninterrupted electric supply will be provided for better functioning of the process. He instructed the FCI officials to achieve the targets of procurement, which should be almost double the procurement done last year, so that the farmers could get good returns. He also appreciated the farmers for bringing good quality grains to mandis.
The farmers thanked the State administration for taking keen interest in ensuring good return to the farmers of their produce.
