PM also shows the NC its rightful place, Omar stands further isolated | AFSPA Revocation | | NEHA JAMMU, Nov 13: No one had ever imagined that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would do it, but he did it yesterday on board Air India One, thus showing the opportunist" and "power-hungry" NC leadership its rightful place. The case in point was his unambiguous statement that "a decision on Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah's demand for partial withdrawal of AFSPA has to be discussed by those dealing with security forces in an objective manner". No one had expected such a statement from the Prime Minister. Why because he is one person who has never rejected such demands as autonomy and self-rule; why because he has been trying to implement what former prime ministers Inder Kumar Gujral and Atal Behari Vajpayee had suggested as possible solutions to the so-called Kashmir problem.
