Jammu, Nov 13 : Separatist leaders and pro Kashmir parties have many times demanded vacation of agricultural land from army and other paramilitary forces in valley but there is 500 kanal land of University of Jammu that is not being vacated by the army despite repeated requests of varsity authorities.
The expansion plans of Jammu University have come to a halt as the army is not vacating its 500 kanals of land at its main campus in Jammu.
Despite repeated attempts from the JU to convince army to vacate the land, army has not shown any signs of moving out of the land in near future. The land could be used to develop infrastructure for academic activities.
The land about is estimated to be in crore and is being occupied by the army for stationing its troops. Transit camp 203 of army is established on the said land.
