| Jammu District Inter-school AthleticMeet | | Zahoor bags 3000 mts gold, Rajinder Kumar 600 mts | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 14: Zahoor of BSF School Paloura clinched gold in under-17 boys’ 3000 meters race while Rajinder Kumar of GHSS Gajansoo bagged in 600mts under-14 category on the opening day of the annual inter-school athletic meet of Jammu district, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) on University of Jammu tracks, here today.
Second place in this track event went to Rahul Choudhary of MHAC Nagbani while Prabhjot Singh of Army School Kaluchak bagged bronze after he finished third.
Earlier, in the under-14 boys’ 600 meters race, Rajinder Kumar of Government High School Gajansoo clinched the first position, followed by Sahil Kumar of MHAC Nagbani at No. 2 position. Vikram Singh of Army School Domana remained third.
In field event of shot put under-14 year, Manzoor of KBPS bagged first position while Rahul Kumar of Middle School Kotli Mian Fateh secured second place and Suraj Tickoo of MHAC Nagbani finished third to bag bronze.
The shot put under-17 gold went to Saadat Mufti of Jodhamal. Second place in this event was bagged by Ashish Khajuria of MHAC Nagbani while Mohd Akram of KBPS remained third.
Earlier, the athletics meet was declared open by Director DYSS, Jai Pal Singh.
Today’s events were officiated by penal of experts including Ram Murti, Nirmal Singh, Harpreet Bhalla, Ravi Kumar, Manjeet Kour, Tilak Raj Sharma, Surinder Singh, Gurbachan Singh, Tarsem Singh, Ranjeet Singh and Ravish Vaid
