Congress leader pay tributes to Nehru | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Nov 14: Pradesh Congress Committee held an extraordinary workers meeting at the Party Headquarters here to pay glowing tributes to architect of India former Prime Minister Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru on his 122nd birth anniversary. The meeting was presided over by Bashir Ahmad Magrey MLC (Vice President) Congress and addressed by Abdul Majid Padder Vice President State Congress, Abdul Gani Khan, Farooq Indrabi and prominent workers and block presidents. Paying tributes to the Pt Nehru, speakers lauded the role of Nehru in nation building. “His Five-Year reconstruction plan had taken the Country to new heights in every respect like education, agriculture, industrialization, power generation, development of rural area, science and technology the main things which can never be forgotten,” the speakers said. They recalled that it was during Nehru tenure that India got recognition in the World as fast developing and powerful country. He was not only a political, but an able administrator and an upright personality,” they added. The speakers told the Congress workers that the best way to pay tributes Nehru was to follow his foot steps and work for the poor and down trodden sections of the society
