| Release wages of laborers, regularize adhocees: Tarigami | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Nov 14: CPI (M) State Secretary and MLA Kulgam Mohammad
Yousuf Tarigami today urged the government to release wages of the need based workers and casual laborers of various government departments.
Voicing concern over the plight of these laborers in a statement here, Tarigami regretted that even auspicious days of Diwali, Eid-ul-Azha and Gurupurab meant nothing to these people as they were not able to feed their families for non release of their pending wages.
“It is irony that these workers are not being paid even minimum wages,” MLA Kulgam said and demanded safeguarding their service interests besides timely release of their remunerations. He called for regularization of all those daily wagers and casual laborers, who have completed seven years of service in PDD and other engineering departments. MLA Kulgam also called for speeding up regularization process of adhoc and contractual employees.
He asked the government to dispense with red tapeism and official wrangles vis-à-vis the files of adhocees and contractual lecturers.
