IMPA conducts training on Commercial Tax Matters | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, NOVEMBER 14- The Institute of Management and Public Administration, Jammu, has organised a 5-day training programme on Commercial Tax Matters which commenced here today. Being sponsored by J&K Finance Department, the programme will train 225 officers drawn from Revenue Department, Commercial Taxes, Engineering Department and Local Bodies. Director General, IMPA, Dr. R.K. Jerath, inaugurated the programme while Commissioner Secretary Finance Department, Mr. Sudhanshu Pandey and Divisional Commissioner, Mr. Pawan Kotwal, were the guests of honour. Commissioner Commercial Taxes, Mr Gazzanfer Hussain, Senior District Registrar Bhopal (resource person), Mr. V.S. Mittal, faculty members and members of IMPA were present on the occasion. The programme has been designed to expose the participants to stamps and registration laws in Jammu and Kashmir and Mr. Mittal, Senior Registrar from Bhopal has been invited to interact on latest Stamps and Registration Act. Mr. Sudhanshu Panday highlighted the need for Stamps and Registration Act and latest amendments to the Act. Mr. Pawan Kotwal also addressed the participants on the importance of registration and ensuing role of officers in the light of the new amendments made to the J&K Stamps and Registration Laws. The Director General said that computerization of revenue records is incomplete unless the officers are not well versed with the procedures and provisions and case laws of the amended laws.
