| Fauji Public School celebrates Annual Sports Day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Samba Nov 14: The Fauji Public School Village Patti, Raya More Distt Samba today celebrated Children’s Day and School’s annual Sports day in school premises.
Joint Chairman of the School Col Virendra K Sahi,VrC was the chief guest who declared the event open after laying wreath on the statue of Martyr Brig Rajinder Singh MVC.
To start with the occasion School Principal Anjana Sharma briefed the Chief Guest about the School sports activities and the event. Thereafter school children presented a well coordinated impressive march past which was followed by finals of various sports events. Jesus house was declared first in Tug of War and Skipping whereas Horse ridding and Girls Marathon events were won by Krisna house. In Marathon for Boys, Paighamber House was declared first. The winners for individual events were Nur Abhinav, LKG Praytaksh, UKG Vinay and Archie, 1st Ejaz, 2nd Pallawi, 3rd Suhani & Deepika.
The Jt Chairman while addressing the Staff and students explained the historical background of the International children’s day was started in Switzerland after a resolution passed at San Fransisco on 1st Jun 1925. The World Children’s day came into being after the UN resolution passed in 1950 to be celebrated on 20th Nov. In our country the day is celebrated on 14th Nov to correspond with our first Prime Minister Pt Nehru’s birth day.
Col Gopal Singh and Major J.S Baloria were the guests of Honour. They jointly gave away the prizes along with the Chief Guest. Lt Col M.S Salaria presented the vote of thanks.
