7 labourers become unconscious after inhaling "poisonous" gas | | | JAMMU: Seven labourers lost consciousness while sleeping in a cold storage cabin at Narwal fruit market here last night. Police sources said seven persons last night slept in a cabin at K C cold storage at Narwal fruit market where they worked as labourers. However, when they did not get up in the morning, some fruit dealers brought the matter to the notice of police. Cops swiftly reached the spot and, after finding the seven labourers in an unconscious state, evacuated them to the GMC hospital where their condition was stated to be critical. They were identified as Vikram Singh, son of Balbir Singh of Pouni, Shamsher Singh, son of Ratan Lal of Chowki Choura, Romesh Kumar, son of Dharam Chand of Bhambla, Saif Ali, son of Feroz Din of Sruinsar, Bodh Raj, son of Rampal of Chowki Choura, Manjit Singh, son of Sardool Singh of Akhnoor, and Saif Ali, son of Umar Din of Keran, Bantalab. their Sources said they must have lost consciousness after inhaling ethylene, which was used in the cold storage to ripen bananas. A case in this regard was registered at the concerned police station. |
