Malik new president of Contractual Lecturers Association | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 15: Dr. Nayeem Ahmad Malik of Government Maulana Azad Memorial (MAM) College was elected as new President of Jammu and Kashmir Contractual Lecturers Association (JKCLA). He defeated his nearest rival Moolraj of GDC Rajouri in the elections held at Rajinder Park, Canal Road Jammu. Dr. Malik after his election as president said that he will continue to take up the issues of Contractual Lecturers/ Teaching Assistants across the state with higher authorities. He urged Minister for Higher Education for regularization of all contractual lecturers/ teaching assistants working on academic arrangement in Colleges of J&K. He further demanded that contractual lecturers/ teaching assistants with three years of experience should be exempted from annual reapply process while those who are left because of increase in workload should be adjusted before December 1, 2011. They have also said that all the contractual lecturers/ teaching assistants working on academic arrangement should be given a monthly salary of Rs.21600. Dr. Nayeem appreciated the role of outgoing president Suresh Sadotra in solving the problems of Contractual Lecturers/ Teaching Assistants across the state and hoped he will continue to guide the association for interest of the contractual.
