Big win for GCW Parade, enters semis | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 15: Government College for Women (GCW), Parade today registered a big 126 runs win over GCW Gandhi Nagar to move into the next round of semi-finals in the inter-college women’s cricket tournament started on the campus, here.
Batting first, after winning the toss, Parade set a target of 185 runs in the given 20 overs. Neeru Manhas was top scorer with 70 runs while Jyotsna contributed 40. From Gandhi Nagar College, Nelza and Diskit took one wicket each.
In reply, GCW Gandhi Nagar bowled out for a meager sum of 58 runs in 13.3 overs. Jawinder Kour was main contributor to the total with 31 runs while no other batswoman could touch the double figure mark. From Parade College, Neeru claimed three wickets while Menu, Shallu and Jyotsana shard two each.
Today’s match was officiated by Pankaj Sasun, Vijay Dogra while Manu Khajuria was scorer.
In all, eight teams have confirmed their participation for this knock-out tournament.
