JKP to have 3 cyber police stations from Dec 15: Khoda | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 15 (KNS): The Director General of Police (DGP), Kuldeep Khoda has said that three Cyber Police Stations are being established at Srinagar, Jammu and Crime Headquarters. He said that Cyber Crime has been posing a great challenge to the modern policing and Jammu and Kashmir Police is having full competence to meet the challenge.
Khoda said this while chairing a high level meeting at Crime Headquarters here today. The meeting was convened to discuss the crime situation in the State and steps taken by Jammu Kashmir Police to curb these crimes. In the outset, Inspector General of Police, Crime, Raja Aijaz Ali apprised the meeting about the functioning of the Crime Wing in the State. He said that various heinous crimes have been exposed by the crime department and persons involved in these crimes brought to justice. He said that in the present times the importance of crime detection has been raised and it is the need of the time to strengthen crime Wing in the State.
During the meeting deficiency of manpower including the Investigating Staff came under discussion and the DGP issued on spot directions to supplement the shortage of manpower at all levels. He said that prosecuting officers should be posted in the courts across the State to achieve good results in the prosecution of criminals. He said that space for three Cyber Police Stations has been identified and these Police Stations would start functioning from December 15, this year. Software and the other staff would be arranged within our own resources till necessary allocations are made by the government, said Mr. Khoda.
The DGP said that JKP is stepping forward at every front of policing and deficiency of funds would not be allowed to curtail its achievements. He said that re-organization of crime department has been taken up with the government and deficiency of accommodation for crime headquarters and shortage of transport is under active consideration of Police Headquarters. He assured that all these issues would be settled soon and hoped that the working of the crime wing would achieve new heights in the field of crime detection in the State.
Khoda also chaired a high level meeting of Jammu Zone and discussed law and order situation in the Zone. He expressed his satisfaction over the law and order situation and emphasized upon the officers to be more vigilant in the coming days. The meeting also discussed various issues related to construction works, land acquisition, functioning of Police Control Room Jammu and shortage of equipment and mobility. The Inspector General of Police, Dilbagh Singh apprised the meeting about the construction works presently in progress in the Jammu Zone and other related issues. He also gave a detailed report to the meeting about the sports activities undertaken by the Zone.
Inspector General of Police (Armed), Jammu Range, A. K. Chowdhary also briefed the meeting about the deployment of man power, availability of accommodation and other living facilities to the armed personnel. He said that the armed personnel are being acquainted with the latest methods of mob controlling and for this purpose various training courses have been started at different police training centres in the State. He gave a detailed resume of man power deployed in various districts of Jammu division.
Khoda stressed upon the officers to constitute supervising committees to monitor the progress of construction works in the districts. He said that this would ensure the desired quality of material being used in the construction. Re-acting to the requirement of furniture and mobility, he said that the department would be liberal in providing better facilities to police offices for their smooth functioning across the State.
The DGP asked the meeting to organize more sports festivals to cultivate talent among the youth. He said that during winter season many state and national level sports tournaments would be organised at Jammu in which various teams including valley based and PMFs teams would be participating. He said that the organization would continue its efforts to refine the talent of the youth of the State in different fields so that they could compete at national and international level.
Khoda later inspected the offices which include Zonal Police Headquarters, Crime Headquarters, traffic office and Zonal G. P. Fund Cell. He asked the officers to provide better accommodation to G.P.Fund office located in the complex and also provide them sufficient furniture so that they could work without any inconvenience.
Among others, the meetings were attended by Inspectors General of Police, Owais Ahmed and Deepak Kumar, Deputy Inspectors General of Police, Farooq Khan, Alok Puri and Garib Dass, AIG, Welfare (PHQ), Nisha Nathyal, Senior Superintendents of Police, Nissar Ahmed and Vijay Kumar, Executive Engineer, (PCD) N. D. Khawaja and other senior police officers.
