UHRA welcomes Dalai Lama’s visit to Jammu

Jammu, Nov 15: United Hotels and Restaurants Association Jammu has heartily welcomed the visit of Buddhist spiritual leader Dalai Lama to the ancient Buddhist site of Ambaran in Akhnoor and Jammu Kala Kendar, where he will inaugurate Photo exhibition of Buddhist monuments and sites.
A meeting of the association held here today, under the chairmanship of its president Aashiq Hussain and attended by Krishan Lal Gupta Vice President, Mushtak Hussain Vice President, Ravinder Raina Gen Secy and Mohd Yusuf Secy appealed to all its members to visit Ambaran in Akhnoor to participate in the reception being accorded to the Buddhist spiritual leader and also attend the inaugural function of photo exhibition of Buddhist Heritage at Kala Kendar Jammu.
The association has described the visit of His Holiness Dalai Lama to ancient Buddhist site of Ambaran in Akhnoor and holding of photo exhibition of Buddhist heritage in Jammu as harbinger of promoting pilgrimage and heritage tourism in Jammu.
With promotion of tourism and pilgrimage in the region and the State as a whole, the tour and travel associations, hotels, lodges and restaurants and all other tourism and pilgrimage related trades will receive a great fillip and boost the economy of the state as a whole.
This will also further strengthen the traditional communal brotherhood and religious tolerance among the people. The visit of the apostle of peace and love for mankind will also auger well for ushering in an era of peace and normalcy in the state and will have a great bearing on a few misguided youth indulging in violence.
Already the benign Goddess Mata Vaishno Devi showers blessings on the people of Jammu region and the State as a whole, while at the same time boost its economy, the popularization of Buddhist heritage in Jammu will also be a blessing for the people in general and the trades related to tourism and pilgrimage in particular, Aashiq Hussain
added.
He has further stated that their association will provide heavy discount on packages to the tourists and pilgrims visiting Jammu and checking in their hotels.
