| Crime Branch produces challan against Naib Tehsildar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu Nov 15: The Crime Branch Jammu today produced challan against one a revenew official (Naib Tehsildar) in the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Jammu for in a case regarding providing fake revenue documents after taking graft from complainant.
Spokesperson of Crime Branch stated that challan was produced against one Mohd Asghar Bhat, Naib Tehsildar son of Ghulam Rasool Bhat resident of Mahore at present H.NO 250 Gujjar Nagar, Jammu in the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Jammu for judicial determination for providing fake revenue documents after taking graft from complainant.
“The Naib Tehsildhar was booked under section 420, 465, 467, 201 RPC r/w section 5(2) P.C Act following the complaint of one Chain Singh son of Faqir Chand resident of Balakote, Mahore who alleged that the Mohd Asghar Bhat who was working as Naib Tehsildar in Revenue Department met him in Tehsil Office, Jammu in the month of January 2006 when he had gone there for inclusion of his name in the revenue records of his land and house falling under khasra No.324 min situated at Bahu which he purchased from one Shankri Devi wife of late Tej Ram a few years back, the case said adding that accused demanded a bribe of `20,000/- from the complainant which was paid to him.
“The accused prepared fake and forged revenue documents i.e Khasra Girdawari, sketch of land, report of Patwari Halqa Bahu and handed over the same to the complainant, the case said. During the course of investigation, Crime Branch Jammu found that the accused by abuse of his official position dishonestly demanded and accepted a bribe of `20,000/- from the complainant and after causing disappearance of evidence issued fake and forged documents to him secondly accused was neither posted in the concerned wing of Revenue Department nor was competent to issue the said revenue documents.
