Prize presented to participants of State Yoga Championship | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu Nov 15: The prize distribution function was organized here today after then conclusion of 7th State Yoga Championship held in the premises of Handa College of Education which was held under the aegis of J&K State Sports Council. Kiran Wattal secretary J&K State Sports Council was the chief guest whereas Deepak Handa President J&K State Yoga Association and Dr Ashutosh Sharma, Secretary General J&K Olympic Association and Joint Secretary of Indian Olympic Association attended the occasion as were guests of honour. During the valedictory occasion volunteers demonstrated yoga asanas. Dr Ashutosh Sharma in his address spoke to the students and highlighted the significance of the karma yoga in our lives. Chief Guest Kiran Wattal highlighted the importance of yoga in day to day healthy life of the people. The prizes in different categories went to winners namely as under Harshita Sharma, Muskan Rajput and Anu Sharma while Tarun Kumar, Sahil Malpotra and Mitesh Jamwal first, second and third respectively 8-10 yrs category of Girls and Boys respectively. Shikha Chib, Riya Gupta and Diksha Vaid claimed top three ranks respectively in girls category under age group 12-17 yrs while Siddharth Balhotra, Sadam Hussain and Ankaleshwar Manhas bagged top three places in same category. In the age group 17-21 yrs, Sahil Mehra and Ranjit Singh first and second prize respectively. Priyanka Khajuria and Sabita Sharma calimed top two ranks in 21-25 yrs category while Vishal Kumar and Aman Sambyal were adjudged winners in the same category. Mukesh Sharma was declared winner in 25-35 yrs category. Meanwhile the results of the state championships are as under: 8-12 yrs Tarun Kumar Mitesh Jamwal and sahil malpotra were decalred winner in boys category whereas Harshita Sharma followed by Muskaan Rajput and Anu Sharma were decalred top thre winner respectively in girls category of same group. In 12-17 yrs group Sidharth Balhotra, Sadam Hussain and Ankleshwar Manhas bagged three ranks respectively while Riya Gupta, Shikha Chib followed by Kamlesh Kumari were declared first three winner respectively. Sahil Mehra and Ranjit Singh were declared winners of 17-21 yrs group whereas Vishal Kumar and Aman Sambyal were declared best in boys category 21-25 yrs group. Priyanka Khajuria and Sabita Sharma bagged prize in 21-25 yrs category while Mukesh Kumar emerged winner in 25-35 yrs category. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks from Deepak Handa, President J&K Yoga Association.
