The photographers have captured the rare Buddhist relics found in Ambaran, imposing Akhnoor fort and captivating Chinab river all in their full glory, For Vijay Kranti, who has held the exhibitions across the globe especially on Tibet, it is a sort of home coming. His family originally came from Mirpur from where they were uprooted in 1947 and had settled in Delhi. Vijay Kranti says his journey “back home” was made possible by his friend and senior journalist Pushp Saraf who put him in touch with Madan Lal Sharma, MP from Jammu, and his younger brother and State Health Minister Sham Lal Sharma both of whom were keenly interested in highlighting Ambaran and Akhnoor with the blessings of Dalai Lama. The ace photographer is happy that a new subject has been added to his kitty that gives him an opportunity to serve his home State. Ambaran is the ancient Buddhist site excavated in Akhnoor tehsil which is also the only Harappan site found in the State so far apart from being the venue of the coronation of Gulab Singh as Raja of Jammu before he went on to form the State of Jammu and Kashmir and became its Maharaja.
