5 years of protest completed, no relief yet for Home Guards | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, November 15 : All J&K Home Guard Welfare Association completes its five years continuous "Protest Dharna" against the casual approach and short sightedness of the State Government towards their genuine demand of enhancement of their salary and absorption of all the Home Guards into the regular police force. The Protest "Dharna" enters its sixth year on November 15 , opposite Divisional Commissioner's Old Office under the leadership of Kamla Sharma its President who said that it was a matter of shame & sorrow that even after a long protest the state government have not moved even a single inch forward and not conceded to the demands of the Home Guards. Kamla asked the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and the Prime Minister of India, that assume how a head of the family could able to bring up his children, how meet kitchen expenses, medicines expenses, to look after the elders with a meager salary amount of bRs.545/-. She added that Home Guards were given regular weapons training and other police training, then why the state Government state State and State's administration has become deaf & dumb towards the demands of the Home Guard. Leaders of various parties and social organizations also joined protest , and appealed the Government to abolish the Home Guard department and absorb all the Home Guards into the regular Police .
